This is a preliminary policy published for an early-access preview of Petrichor Sky. It has not yet completed formal legal review and will be updated before general availability.

Who We Are

Petrichor Sky is a consumer weather and activity-planning app. It combines forecasts, meteorologist input, and AI-generated summaries to help you plan outdoor activities. This policy describes what personal information we collect when you use the app and how we handle it.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run the service:

Account name and email address, provided when you register.
Saved locations you choose to follow for forecasts and activity scores.
Push notification subscriptions, if you enable weather alerts on a device.
AI question activity: the questions you submit to AI features, and usage counts used for rate limiting.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to authenticate your account, deliver forecasts and activity scores for the locations you save, send the weather notifications you have subscribed to, answer the questions you ask our AI features, and protect the service against abuse (for example, through rate limits). We do not sell your personal information.

Third-Party Weather Data Sources

Forecasts and conditions in Petrichor Sky are built from public and third-party data sources, including:

U.S. National Weather Service (NWS/NOAA): forecasts, watches, warnings, advisories, and current conditions. Public domain.
NOAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center: aviation weather observations (METAR). Public domain.
Open-Meteo: weather model forecast data. Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
AirNow / U.S. EPA: observed air quality (AQI) readings, credited to state, local, and tribal air quality agencies.

These providers supply weather data to us; we do not sell or share your personal information with them.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and the locations you save for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at the contact address below and we will process the request. Self-serve account deletion is planned; until it ships, deletion requests are handled by email.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA, including the right to access, correct, and delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
